SUMMARY:Intersectionality in Ancient and Pre-Modern Contexts. Considering A
 spects of Privilege and Marginalisation
DESCRIPTION:While intersectional approaches are well established in the soc
ial sciences\, their application to ancient and pre-modern contexts remain
s mostly unexplored. Questions of identity and the marginalisation of spec
ific groups are gaining increasing importance in ancient and pre-modern st
udies as well. The conference aims to bring together scholars who apply co
ncepts of intersectionality to ancient and pre-modern contexts or wish to
explore its potential within these often fragmentary and elite-focused sou
rces.\\r\\nRegistration: If you plan to have lunch at the conference\, ple
 ase contact gwenda.bolliger@unibas.ch [mailto:gwenda.bolliger@unibas.ch] u
ntil 7.6.2026 (otherwise the Caterer will not be able to provide enough fo
od). Otherwise\, spontaneous guests are very welcome: The conference is op
 en to the public.
