Student Assistant in Ancient History
The four-years project "Reuniting fragments, identifying scribes and characterizing scripts: the Digital paleography of Greek and Coptic papyri" funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and hosted in the University of Basel offers a position for a student assistant.
Your position
- Tasks will include, among others:
- image processing and text encoding (for which trainings are offered)
- bibliographical research
- continuing improvement and implementation of the website
Your profile
- Study of Computer Sciences in the University of Basel
- An experience in Digital Humanities and/or Document Analysis will be appreciated but is not required
We offer you
- Start date: September 1, 2018 – 6 h/week
- Duration of the contract: 1 year (possible extensions)
- A dynamic work environment in a small and highly motivated team
- The salary is paid according to the guidelines of the University of Basel and the Swiss National Science Foundation
