EZ IV
In the autumn of 2001, the fieldwork carried out since 1996 on the last excavation site EZ IV was completed. The site yielded the significant structure of a stately home from the early 1st century AD, which was demolished in the earthquake of 363 AD. The rich wall decorations of the building are outstanding. In front of the residential building, it was also possible to uncover a quarter sanctuary, with which the remarkable facade decoration with images of gods is obviously connected. The in-depth reappraisal of this extraordinary complex was tackled in several evaluation campaigns, and the elaborate consolidation and tourist development of the ruins was completed in 2008.
