For the beginning of your studies

For students starting their bachelor's degree in Ancient Civilizations, all subject areas have prepared a joint brochure, our First-Semester Guide, which is designed to help students get started. The PDF can be downloaded here.

For first-year students in both the degree subject and the degree program of Ancient Civilizations taking one or more introductory courses or proseminars, there is a joint commencement event with various tours. All first-year and second-semester students will receive the exact programme at their university e-mail address.

Please note: Access to the Rosshof is currently only possible with an activated UNIcard. Please activate your UNIcard in time, you will find further information here https://unicard.unibas.ch/de/aktivieren-s/.

Student Associations of Ancient Civilizations

Student associations are the base organisations of the skuba (university student body) and are comprised of all students of a subject. They are your go-to point of contact to meet other students, exchange experiences, ask subject-specific questions, get valuable tips or to just hang out. They organize student events and represent your interests in the department and the faculty.

Get in touch with your student associations and join the association boards!
