By car coming from Switzerland

Coming from Central Switzerland, please leave the A2 freeway at the Basel/St. Jakob exit and drive towards the city center. As soon as you see the red post office building above the railroad tracks on your left, turn left and drive into the following short tunnel. Cross the Heuwaage viaduct, turn right again and take the exit to the right at the next sharp left turn, which leads you directly to Lyss (streetcar tracks). There, go straight along Petersgraben, where the Rosshof, behind the stylized city wall, is home to the ancient history department.

Since parking spaces are scarce, however, we recommend that you do not turn off at the sharp left-hand bend in Steinengraben, but continue along it, past Spalentor, and after about 300 meters you will find the parking garage of the Cantonal Hospital (attention: entrance in the middle of the street!). From there, if you use the exit to Petersgraben, it is only a 3 minute walk up Petersgraben to Rosshof.

Coming by car from Germany (Karlsruhe)

After customs, please exit the highway at the Badischer Bahnhof and turn right into Schönaustrasse shortly after the main square in front of the Badischer Bahnhof. Continue straight on this road and you will reach the area of the Kantonspital (Cantonal Hospital) via Feldbergstrasse, Johanniterbrücke and the Schanzenstrasse behind it, which you will see on your left at the next intersection. Continue straight ahead and take the entrance to the hospital parking garage, which is located in the middle of the street, only 50 meters further on. From there it is only a 3 minute walk via the Petersgraben exit.
