The Department of Ancient Civilizations now has an extended license for GreekKeys, which allows the software incl. fonts to be made available free of charge to students during their studies. The terms of use can be found at: www.apagreekkeys.org/pdfs/ExtendedLicenseStudents.pdf. If you are interested, please contact the responsible computer officer of the URZ, Claude Brügger.

The big advantage of Unicode is the character compatibility between systems (PC, Mac), languages (international) and applications (word processing, layout programs, browsers, etc.). Requirements are Mac OS X (and Microsoft Office from version 2004) or Windows 2000/XP/Vista (and Office from version 2000). The new generation browsers (Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc.) are all Unicode-enabled.

For the easy handling of Unicode you need, besides a Unicode font, a keyboard layout which allows the input of the (non-Latin) special characters in an easy way.
