Edition project Erwin Rohde: Briefe aus dem Nachlass Volume 5 (1886-1897)
The classical philologist Erwin Rohde (1845-1898) maintained an important correspondence with friends such as Friedrich Nietzsche and Franz Overbeck and with colleagues such as Otto Ribbeck, Franz Rühl and Theodor Gomperz. Many letters and cards to his wife, Valentine Rohde née Framm, have also been preserved. His estate of letters, which was privately owned until the end, was donated in its main parts to the Basel University Library in 2021. In 2015, Dr. Marianne Haubold began the edition Erwin Rohde: Briefe aus dem Nachlass. She published three volumes of Rohde's letters and his "Cogitata"(https://www.olms.de/search/Detail.aspx?pr=2008585). Shortly before the publication of volume 4 (2022), Marianne Haubold died unexpectedly. In the context of Briefe aus dem Nachlass. Volume 5 (1886-1897), the final fifth volume will be edited. The complete index and the bibliographical details of the works cited in the commentary will also be integrated into this volume. It thus forms the keystone of the edition.
