What are the books and articles that every scholar in the Humanities should have read at least once? Inspired by the tradition of reading circles at British universities, this monthly gathering invites MA students and PhD researchers from across the Department to explore influential works in intellectual and cultural history. We will explore texts that have shaped scholarly thinking and offer insights to archaeologists, historians and philologists alike. You do not need to be an expert in the author, period or field. Instead, the reading circle offers a space to discover, discuss and debate books that form part of a shared intellectual heritage.
