Basel Fellowships in Latin Literature
The subject area of Latin Philology at the University of Basel, in collaboration with the Patrum Lumen Sustine Foundation (PLuS), regularly announces the Basel Fellowships in Latin Literature. These fellowships enable young as well as established scholars to spend a fully funded study and research period of up to 3 months (minimum 1 month) at the Department of Ancient Civilizations of the University of Basel. Fellows pursue their current research in the field of Classical Latin literature and benefit from the excellent resources of the University Library and the Library of Studies of the Ancient World, one of the best-equipped research libraries in the field of Studies of the Ancient World worldwide.
Visiting Fellows provide insight into their research project in a public lecture; they are invited (but not required) to participate in the research colloquium and other events organized by the subject area of Latin Philology. However, the actual purpose of the program is to allow the fellows to concentrate exclusively on their research work.
The program's scientific advisory board decides on the awarding of the fellowships.
